How Much is a Book Worth?

You alone must be the judge!

How important would it be to you to bring into the English-speaking world a new book that is a first of its kind: an illustrated and collaborative history book, for example; memoirs of a Slovak cardinal; the political platform of a Slovak president; the first book on Slavic mythology in English as a school textbook; the first book of Dobsinsky's tales in English illustrated by Martin Benka; and Slovakia's first debut into the world with its first anthology of contemporary short stories?

Any one of these is a monument more lasting than a stone — a monument in memory of one you love and want to immortalize! If virtue has it's own reward, then you'll have your reward ipso facto when you enrich the world with Slovak literature, culture, and art.

"PHILANTHROPY is an active commitment and a habitual orientation to promote high culture in a significant way. Some of us Slovaks in North America 'have made it in the world' and have appropriated those noble cultural values to support literature and art, museums and libraries in order to ameliorate and ennoble the human condition. There are among us Slovaks already some secular saints like the Vanderbilts, Carnegies, and Romans. We at SAICF will be listing them soon in our big TABULA GRATULATORIA, on our website."
