Through the Pacific dawn, Apollo 10 settled down three miles from the carrier "Princeton." The recovery team had been drilling for weeks. They scooped the astronauts into a hovering helicopter by means of a Billy Pugh lift and deposited them on the red carpet stretched across the "Princeton's" deck all within 39 minutes of splashdown. 8 of 10
