Dear Fellow Slovak-American,

The Grossmann photographs are to be viewed as reflections of a Slovak Folk life that has vanished with time. They are intended to preserve a priceless heritage for future generations, to be treasured as a historical and anthropological record of a place and a way of life now banished by modernity.

Blessed are we who have America, but also Slovakia, our ancient motherland, to find comfort and inspiration.
