About Ladislav Noel and His Photographs

Ladislav Noel (1922-1996) systematically photographed the changing landscape
of Slovakia over a fifty-year period. His amazing photographs, a selection
of which is displayed following, comprises a priceless visual record of
the changing landscape, people, and history of Slovakia over many decades.
His collection of historic slides, negatives, and prints, was donated
to the National Trust of Slovakia for Historic Places and Landscapes in
1996. The collection, which comprises over 70,000 items, will be preserved
by the National Trust for the people of Slovakia and the world.
The National Trust of Slovakia for Historic Places and Landscapes was
founded in 1996 as an independent organization to encourage conservation
and preservation of places and sites important to the history and heritage
of Slovakia. The Trust engages in public education and awareness campaigns
and fosters innovative approaches to historic preservation. For more information,
