Activities
of the Slovak-American International Cultural Foundation, Inc.
The Slovak-American International Cultural Foundation,
Inc. promotes knowledge about the contributions of Slovakia and Slovak-Americans
to the culture and history of the American people. The Foundation has
established a publishing program to provide a venue for notable books
and multi-media works - new and existing - about the history and culture
of Slovakia. The Foundation also encourages scholarship about Slovakia
and its people and their special relationship to the United States and
undertakes projects of popular appeal which will promote the artistic
heritage of Slovakia and Slovaks in the Americas.
Detailed
Description of Activities of the Foundation
The Foundation initially is concentrating on five program
areas to achieve its goals:
1. Sponsoring the publication of notable
books
The Foundation will sponsor many new books and multi-media projects
over the next several years. The Foundation's Directors will review
book sponsorship proposals from members of the American Association
of University Presses, Slovak publishers, and others. Each book proposed
for sponsorship will be recommended by a panel of outside experts and
will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and appreciation of
Slovakia and Slovak-America.

Sponsor a Book: The Foundation
invites you to learn how you can sponsor a book about a notable
aspect of Slovak culture, art, or life. The generous sponsorship
of a book is an excellent bridge to Slovakia for corporations.
The sponsorship of a book also is an excellent memorial and a
way to recognize the achievements of your family and friends.
